National CAPACD is excited to announce the 2025 Community in the Capital (CITC) Fellowship!
CITC is a policy advocacy fellowship for staff at National CAPACD member organizations. Over five months (May-September 2025), CITC Fellows will learn about the federal government, Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI)-specific public policy advocacy, how the federal government impacts their work at the local and state government levels, and identify needs in their communities and translate them into policy solutions. Fellows will advance National CAPACD’s 2025-2026 Policy Action Agenda, a part of the member-driven 2025-2028 Policy Platform, by meeting with policymakers in Washington, DC. Fellows will also develop leadership and communications skills and deepen their confidence as AA and NHPI social justice leaders.
CITC aims to increase the national presence and visibility of AA and NHPI community-based organizations and emerging leaders and bridge the gap between local and federal policy advocacy. Over the past 14 years, National CAPACD has trained nearly 150 leaders from across the country, representing 50 different AA and NHPI community-based organizations, through CITC. We’re proud that CITC alumni are becoming leaders in their respective fields, growing strong peer relationships, serving on National CAPACD’s Board of Directors, and becoming policymakers themselves.
We will host virtual office hours on April 15 from 10-11 a.m. H.T./1-2 p.m. P.T./2-3 p.m. M.T./3-4 p.m. C.T./4-5 p.m. E.T. to answer any questions about the fellowship or application process.
