Advocating for Our Communities

Building a powerful national coalition advancing community development for Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.

In support of our mission and centered in our values, National CAPACD develops and implements a federal policy platform and policy action agenda with our member organizations and national partner organizations and allies, which make up our coalition. Our policy work aims to advance National CAPACD’s coalition policy priorities, empower member policy advocacy engagement, and strengthen the presence of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders at the national level. We uplift our communities through our member-based Policy Committee, Community in the Capital (CITC) Policy Fellowship, meeting with federal government offices, engaging with national policy coalitions, and hosting and participating in national conferences.

National CAPACD Policy Committee

National CAPACD’s Policy Committee was established in 2021 to ensure that our policy advocacy priorities and strategies are implemented in partnership with member organizations. The purpose of our Policy Committee is to increase member engagement on national policy advocacy and collectively advance a national policy agenda that reflects local perspectives of National CAPACD’s diverse membership.

Together, we seek to position National CAPACD as a leader on core coalition issues with direct connections to local communities, establish and develop a core group of leaders from our membership as policy advocates on the national level, and improve coordination on rapid response efforts.

To learn more about National CAPACD’s Policy Committee and express interest in getting involved, please contact policy@nationalcapacd.org.
