National CAPACD Congratulates New CAPAC Leadership
The National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development (National CAPACD) congratulates the newly-elected leadership of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), and thanks Congresswoman Judy Chu for thirteen years of leadership as CAPAC Chair.
New CAPAC leadership for the 119th Congress will consist of:
- Representative Grace Meng (NY-06), Chair
- Representative Mark Takano (CA-39), First Vice-Chair
- Representative Jill Tokuda (HI-02), Second Vice-Chair
- Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06), Whip
- Representative-elect Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10), Freshman Representative
”With the upcoming shifts in leadership in the Administration and Congress, it is more important than ever that Congressional leaders representing Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities work together with these communities and the organizations that serve them to advocate for stronger protections and equitable policies,” stated National CAPACD CEO Seema Agnani. “A nuanced understanding of and relationship with local communities is critical to building the unity, shared purpose, and mutual support necessary for a stronger national presence in the 119th Congress to advocate for AA, NH, and PI communities.”
National CAPACD looks forward to advancing important policy priorities with CAPAC, and partnering with CAPAC leadership to ensure that they are accountable to the diverse needs and experiences of our AA, NH, and PI communities.
